Rev. Maria Anderson-Lippert joined the staff at ULCH in March of 2022 and is excited for this opportunity to minister with the faithful and justice-seeking community at ULCH. She grew up in Lindstrom, Minnesota, where her family has been rooted for many generations. Her passion for walking with people while exploring the multitude of ways in which God’s grace shows up in the world – through poetry, friendship, good meals, scripture, and social justice movements – brought her to ministry and she’s stayed a pastor for those same reasons. Pastor Maria brings her experiences as a social worker with people experiencing homelessness in Berkeley, CA, developing a new community of faithful seekers in Portland, ME and supporting the pastoral care ministries at her former call in Christ the King Lutheran Church in Bloomington. Before moving home to Minnesota, Pr. Maria served St. Ansgar Lutheran Church and Arise Portland, both in Portland, ME. She graduated from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in 2014 and Concordia College in Moorhead, MN in 2009.
In her personal life, Pr. Maria is married to Nat, who works for the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers, and enjoys working with him to parent their two young children – Solomon (2.5) and Raymond (born November 2021.) She spends her free time reading, baking, tending to her backyard garden, and engaging in local politics. She and her family currently reside in Bloomington.
